Puduraya terminal to reopen April 16
KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 18, 2011): Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said UDA Holdings Bhd, the developer of the Puduraya bus terminal, has given its word that the terminal will reopen on April 16.
Speaking to reporters after a working vist to check on the delay in the reopening of the terminal, Raja Nong Chik said that the developer had asssured him that it will be able to complete all works and reopen the terminal to the public on the given date.
"UDA has given the assurance that they will reopen the terminal on April 16 and they will stick to the schedule," he said.
He added that after inspecting the terminal, he found most of the works completed with just several things to do before it could be reopened.
"The ceiling needs to be done up while the escalators and the lifts need to be tested, as well as the CCTVs."
Raja Nong Chik added that the temporary bus depot in Bukit Jalil will be used until Puduraya reopens.
theSun reported the delay in renovation and upgrading works at the transportation hub which was closed in April last year for a RM52 million renovation and upgrading work.
The terminal was supposed to reopen in September last year for Hari Raya but the opening has since been delayed twice.
